NWPA Job Connect and the NWPA Local Workforce Development Area (LWDA) are committed to responsible, effective development and investment of funds to achieve results that will enable our region to prosper. Our grant making process focuses on innovative, in-demand and proven projects which are collaborative efforts that will produce meaningful impact in the region in alignment with the mission of the NWPA WDB. Our diversity and breadth of partnerships with agencies such as economic development, employers, educators and government entities allows the LWIA to leverage resources, facilitate connections and contribute a regional perspective.

Our grant funding distribution and development occurs in multiple strategic ways, such as:

  • Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to competitively and conscientiously select grant awardees with the strengths and abilities to respond to the needs of special initiatives and specific projects.
  • Partnerships on grant applications to capitalize on the expertise and resources of regional and local organizations for inventive and vital projects.

  • Support and assistance for innovative and proven projects that respond to regional workforce development needs.

NOTICE: Requests for Letters of Support from the board for PAsmart Advancing Grants is 12pm December 30, 2019. Any requests after this time will not be considered. Requests should be sent to
